Online Program Grievance and Feedback Procedure
In order to maintain a safe refuge for meditative practice and contemplative experience, we join together in living by a code of ethics during our time at Shambhala Mountain Center. This code of ethics applies to all teachers, presenters, program staff, SMC staff, SMC Governing Council, rental clients, retreat participants, guests, residents, and volunteers.
As your retreat hosts, we aim to ensure your well-being in a space of practice, reflection, and discovery. SMC is committed to creating an online environment supportive of the open-heartedness that accompanies deep practice.
If any person – including participants, presenters, teachers, or staff – experiences psychological or emotional harm, or is a witness to any such harm, SMC has a grievance procedure in place to receive and respond to reports brought to our attention.
Sometimes you may not be sure how far you want to go with a concern, issue, or complaint. If you are the recipient of or witness any harm during your online program we encourage you to tell someone. Please go to your Program Coordinator or Zoom Support/Host for support and consultation when you are considering whether to make a report. For online programs, you may also reach out to the team email onlineteam@shambhalamountain.org.
For all other feedback and for issues that do not rise to the level of a breach of Code of Ethics, all programs will offer an opportunity to provide feedback at the end of the program via a survey sent to all participants.
If you wish to report harm or misconduct, please contact one or all of the following:
1) Your Admin Support or Zoom Support person. Please see your email communications for these contacts.
2) The Health and Well-Being Officer at SMC: kasung @shambhalamountain.org
3) The Online Program Manager at SMC: onlineprogrammanager @shambhalamountain.org
Once your report is received, we will follow our internal procedures to address your concerns in a timely manner. The person who receives your report will be available to explain how your report will proceed and what additional options are available to you.
